SPF Record Lookup & Validator

Check if your SPF record is configured correctly and validate email authentication setup

About SPF Records

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication method that helps prevent email spoofing. It allows domain owners to specify which mail servers are authorized to send email on behalf of their domain.

How SPF Works

  1. You publish an SPF record as a TXT record in your domain's DNS
  2. When someone receives an email claiming to be from your domain, their mail server checks your SPF record
  3. The receiving server compares the sending server's IP address against your authorized list
  4. Based on the match, the email is either accepted, rejected, or marked as suspicious

SPF Tags

Tag Description
v=spf1 SPF version identifier (required)
ip4: Authorize IPv4 address or range
ip6: Authorize IPv6 address or range
a Authorize A record of domain
mx Authorize MX record servers
include: Include another domain's SPF policy
~all Soft fail (mark suspicious)
-all Hard fail (reject)
Important: SPF has a limit of 10 DNS lookups. Each include:, a, mx, and exists: mechanism counts as a lookup. If you exceed this limit, your SPF record will fail validation.
